A native of New Richmond, Mrs. Josephine B. Sims, 59, of 9995 Edison St., Alliance, Ohio, died Tuesday morning in Overlook House at Cleveland, Ohio, after a six-month illness. Mrs. Sims had lived at Alliance for 29 years and was a Christian Scientist practitioner and registered nurse. She was a member of First Church of Christ Scientist, at Alliance and Order of Eastern Star. Born at New Richmond on Aug. 23, 1916, she was a daughter of John and Benza Martin Baxter. Surviving are her mother of New Richmond; two daughters, Mrs. Janet Marie Lerner of Columbus, Ohio, and Miss Martha Dick of Alliance; two brothers, Elmer of Indianapolis and James of Kalamazoo, Mich.; and three sisters, Mrs. Betty Carr of Lafayette, Mrs. Barbara Abney of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Annabelle Larmie of Kalamazoo. Services are scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Friday in Cassaday and Turkle Funeral Home at Alliance with Lyle Crist in charge and officiated by the Rev. Leonard Salvig. Burial will be in Marlboro Cemetery at Alliance. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
